The hotel project is located in the historic city center of Antwerp. The motto 'the ordinary extraordinary' was a special guideline for the design and layout of the hotel. Using the existing archetypes, no 'special effects' but optimizing the already present good elements.
In 2001, the first building was renovated; 11 suites were created after thorough analysis and study.
In 2008, an adjoining building was purchased to expand the hotel within the same concept with another 11 rooms, a bar, lounge, meeting room and breakfast restaurant. This results in a dynamic and cosmopolitan city hotel.
The vaulted basement rooms were excavated and now provide a SPA and wellness zone, the centuries-old structure of the building is visible again. There is also a roof terrace on the roof with a 360° view over the city.
Due to two indoor patios, all rooms receive sufficient light and security. These patios offer a soothing 'hortus conclusus' in the inner city of the ground floor areas.
A tight budget tracking has resulted in an economically feasible project.
